Topeka, KS : One person seriously injured in two-vehicle crash in the 5100 block of S.W. Auburn Road on Wednesday, 12th February, 2020

One person suffered what authorities said were serious injuries in a car-pickup truck collision on a snowy road Wednesday morning just southwest of Topeka.

The crash was reported around 8:44 a.m. in the 5100 block of S.W. Auburn Road.

Shawnee County sheriff’s deputy Abigail Christian said at the scene that the crash occurred when a white, four-door Toyota Yaris passenger car that was southbound on Auburn Road went into the northbound lane of travel, colliding with a white Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck that was traveling north on Auburn Road.

After the collision, the Toyota ended up facing east in the east ditch and the pickup truck came to rest facing northwest in the west ditch.

Christian said the driver of the Toyota was transported to a local hospital by American Medical Response ambulance with serious injuries.
