Springfield, IL : A 26-year-old motorcycle rider in Fox Lake on Tuesday, August 22, 2017

A 26-year-old motorcycle rider in Fox Lake died after a crash involving a sedan on State Park Road Tuesday evening as he was passing other vehicles.

The motorcyclist was identified as Samual J. Wiesbrock of Spring Grove, according to McHenry County Coroner Anne Majewski.Fox Lake police said Wiesbrock was riding a Yamaha motorcycle around 4:30 p.m. north on State Park Road, but he went into the southbound lane passing other vehicles. A Chevrolet passenger vehicle was going north too when it made a left turn onto Kohl Avenue and the motorcycle hit the driver's side of the sedan, police said.

Wiesbrock was transported by a Fox Lake Fire Department ambulance to Centegra Northern Illinois Medical Center in McHenry, where he died, according to police.

Majewski said he died of blunt trauma. She said he was wearing a helmet and toxicology tests are pending.

The Major Crash Assistance Team of Lake County was called to assist in the investigation.
