Muncie,IN : Delaware County man, Blackford business sued over fatal crash on February, Tuesday 6th 2018

The survivors of a Peru girl killed in a December traffic accident have filed a lawsuit against a Delaware County man and his Hartford City employer.

Authorities said Scott Baker, 62, of Eaton, was driving a semi-tractor trailer on U.S. 24 just south of Peru in Miami County when the fatal crash took place on Dec. 17.

According to the lawsuit – filed in recent days in Delaware Circuit Court 2 – Baker ran a red light at the federal highway’s intersection with Mexico Road and struck a Ford Explorer driven by Kristina Buffington, 31, of Peru. The SUV then struck a third vehicle.

Buffington’s 12-year-old daughter, Amanda, was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident from crash injuries.
