Auburn, CA : Sole vehicle collision snarls weekend I-80 traffic on Friday, December, 8th 2017

A vehicle traveling eastbound on Interstate 80 at about 1 p.m. Friday hit the center divide.

“It was an unsafe turning movement,” said Traci Pierce, a spokesperson for the California Highway Patrol.

The crash occurred near the Dry Creek Road exit. Traffic was “at a crawl” following the incident, backing up as far west as Bell Road. The driver was transported to Sutter Roseville. She is from Sparks, Nevada.

The accident is still under investigation.
