A Pensacola woman died when the car she was driving ran off the road early Monday and crashed into a pole and a tree on U.S. Highway 41 in Spring Hill. Lisa Jane Newcomer, 35, was headed north just after midnight on U.S. 41 when her car, a 2001 Honda Accord, veered onto the east shoulder near Five Palms Lane, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. The car slammed into a wooden utility pole, then rolled backward into a culvert and became airborne before hitting a tree. Newcomer died at the scene.
