Minneapolis school bus slides into intersection, causes crash
Minneapolis police say a school bus could not stop on an icy hill and slid onto a busy street, causing a crash.
The bus was carrying 29 children Wednesday morning, but no students or the bus driver was hurt. The other drivers also weren't hurt.
The Star Tribune reports the bus was on its way to Jenny Lind School about 9:30 a.m. when it tried to stop on glare ice at a stop sign in north Minneapolis. The bus slid into the intersection where it collided with a car heading west. That vehicle then struck an eastbound vehicle.
A police spokesman says two other vehicles coming down the hill behind the bus veered into a snowbank to avoid hitting the bus.
A second bus took the students to school.
