SHOREHAM, VT : Two-vehicle crash results in minor injuries on Saturday, December 31st 2016
A crash on Saturday on Route 74 sent two people to the hospital with minor injuries, police said.
On Saturday, around 1:45 p.m., police were notified of a two-vehicle crash.
After an investigation, police determined Kristilyn Arredondo, 46, of Shoreham, was driving a 2000 Subaru Legacy north on Route 74 near the intersection with Doolittle Road.
Arredondo stopped in the northbound lane so she could turn the car around and drive south.
Tyler Bougor, 28, of Salisbury, had been driving north in a 2005 Chevrolet Cavalier at about 50 mph over the crest of a hill on Route 74.
Police said Bougor failed to stop his car in time to avoid colliding into the rear of the Legacy.
Arredondo and a passenger in her car were taken to Porter Hospital for treatment of what police called minor injuries.
All people involved had been wearing seat belts at the time of the collision.
There was extensive rear end contact damage to the Legacy and extensive front end contact damage to the Cavalier, police said.
The Vermont State Police were assisted on scene by Middlebury Rescue and the Shoreham Fire Department.
