St. Francis, LA : Head-on collision with a tree seriously injures two people on North St. Francis Road (Highway 527), approximately two miles north of St. Francis on Wednesday, 22nd January, 2020

A one-vehicle accident on Monday morning near St. Francis ended with two people being transported to University of Louisville Hospital with serious injuries.
The accident occurred at 8:52 a.m. on North St. Francis Road (Highway 527), approximately two miles north of St. Francis.
According to the Marion County Sheriff’s Office, Austin Blake Bartley, 20, of Loretto was driving a 2006 Pontiac northbound when he lost control of the vehicle, crossed into the southbound lane and exited the roadway colliding head-on with a tree.
Bartley and a passenger in the vehicle, Ashley Brooks, 20, of Jacksonville, Florida, were transported by Marion County EMS to University of Louisville Hospital for treatment of serious injuries.
The Marion County Rescue Squad and the Loretto Fire Department assisted at the scene. Deputy Sheriff Ray Gardner investigated.
