Noble County, IN : Driver injured in crash with trailer near Noble County Road 150 East on Monday, November 17, 2014
A man suffered hip and leg injuries Monday night after his car crashed into the front end of a trailer straddling the center line of Indiana 8 near Noble County Road 150 East, Indiana State Police said today.
At 10:15 p.m., a semi driven by Meliton F. Silva, 42, of San Antonio, Texas, was turning onto Indiana 8 from the driveway of Bosch Automotive, state police said in a statement.
As the semi was making a wide turn, the trailer became unhitched and landed on the center line without lights on, police said.
They said Bradley S. Bonar, 55, of Albion was driving west on Indiana 8 in a minivan when he collided with the front end of the trailer.
Bonar was trapped inside the car, police said. He was removed by the Albion Fire Department and taken by ambulance to Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne.
The semi driver was cited for driving left of center, police said.
The crash remains under investigation.
