COHOES, NY : A Cohoes man was killed in a car accident on Thursday, 15th March 2018

Police said a Cohoes man was killed in a car accident Thursday.

Police said officers responded at about 5:42 a.m. Thursday - along with Cohoes firefighters and EMS - to a two car accident on Saratoga Street, north of the intersection with New Cortland Street, on the Cohoes-Waterford Bridge.

When officers arrived at the scene, police said, a driver of one of the vehicles involved in the head-on collision — Lawrence Brisson 2nd, 38, of Cohoes — was found to be unresponsive and was transported to Samaritan Hospital. A short time later, police said, Brisson was pronounced deceased.

The cause of the collision continues to be investigated by the city police, the New York State Police Accident Reconstruction Unit and the Albany County DA’s Office. Pending the results of the investigation no further details of the collision will be released, police said.
