A 26-year-old man from Helena was killed Wednesday afternoon in a two-vehicle crash near East Helena.
According to the Montana Highway Patrol, a 28-year-old driver and the victim were travelling east on US Highway 12 just before 1 p.m. The driver lost control of the vehicle while taking a left hand curve and entered the westbound lane, colliding with the front passenger side of a Chevy Suburban.
The Trailblazer went off the road and came to a rest, while the Suburban remained in the westbound lane. The driver of the Trailblazer was transported to St. Peter’s hospital in Helena and the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
The occupants of the Suburban, driven by a 41-year-old Townsend man and four other occupants, were all taken to the hospital in private vehicles.
The name of the victim has not been released.
