Louisville, KY : Robert Perkins, 34 dead of head injury after crash at Outer Loop and Afterglow Drive in Louisville on Sunday, October 19, 2014

One man was killed following a fatal crash that happened at the intersection of Outer Loop and Afterglow Drive, near 3rd Street Road, according to LMPD Public Information Officer Dwight Mitchell. The coroner confirmed the man as Robert Perkins, 34, of Louisville. He was pronounced dead at the scene from a closed head injury. Authorities say a black Suzuki SUV was involved in the crash, which happened Sunday around 4:30 a.m. Two people were inside the vehicle, according to officials. The passenger has been taken to the hospital for treatment with what Mitchell called non-life threatening injuries. Investigators are working to determine the cause of the crash.
