Nashville,TN : Woman almost carjacked after stopping to help at crash on I-24 on August, Tuesday 15th 2017

Police say they have arrested the man who allegedly tried to carjack a good Samaritan at knifepoint in south Nashville.


According to police, 27-year-old Alfredo Martinez tried to rob the woman just after midnight Tuesday.

The woman told detectives that Martinez held a knife to her neck and said, "I'm going to kill you if you don't give me your car." She used the button on her keys to sound her alarm instead, which made the suspect run away.

Police said Martinez returned to the scene nearly an hour later, covered in mud.

Martinez is charged with attempted robbery, driving without a license and leaving the scene of an accident. Court records show he has been found guilty of driving without a license four times since 2011. He is being held on $25,000 bond.
