A Hillsboro motorcyclist died Sunday afternoon in a collision on Route 3A in Bow.

The 53-year-old man – who has not yet been identified – was not wearing a helmet at the time, police said. His passenger, a 52-year-old woman, was taken to the hospital after suffering injuries that were not considered life-threatening, according to reports. Police said the man and the woman were related.

The motorcycle and a car collided just after 2 p.m. in the area of 840 Route 3A near Sullivan Tire Commercial Truck Center.

The driver of the car was not injured, police said.

Bow police and the New Hampshire State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Team were investigating the cause of the crash. Police said speed and alcohol do not appear to be factors.

Bow police Sgt. Art Merrigan said Monday that police are not immediately releasing the crash victims’ names because they are reviewing what information they are allowed to release under the Driver Privacy Act.
