CAPE CORAL, FL : Man arrested for hit & run crash in Cape Coral neighborhood on Saturday, 13th February 2021

An early hit-and-run turned into a hunt for a suspect morning in one Cape Coral neighborhood.

According to the Cape Coral Police Department, 30-year-old Raul Chavarria was arrested after crashing into a tree on the 5700 block of SW 7th Court off Rose Garden Road.

After crashing, Chavarria abandoned the car and fled on foot.

Chavarria, a convicted felon, was gone once police arrived at the car, but they did find a loaded gun magazine clip inside. CCPD swarmed the area, searching for him for at least two hours according to neighbors like Paul Zysset.
