SILER CITY, NC : A single-vehicle crash in Chatham County on Sunday, 1st April 2018
Siler City, North Carolina
Speed and failure to wear a seat belt were the contributing factors in the death of a Siler City-area man in a single-vehicle crash in Chatham County Sunday evening.
According to a report by Trooper W.L. Allred of the N.C Highway Patrol, Raymond Dalke Williams, 50, was westbound at a high rate of speed in a 2003 Dodge Ram pickup truck on Tom Stevens Road northwest of Siler City at about 8:50 p.m.
The truck crossed the center line in a curve and ran off the road, then crossed the road again and ran off the other side before striking a tree and coming to rest on its top. Williams was ejected from the vehicle and died at the scene.
