New York Man Killed In Salisbury Crash in Brooklyn
A 48-year-old Brooklyn, NY man was killed after his car left Route 112 and struck a utility pole Sunday night, state police said.Scott Blakemore Reed was pronounced dead at the scene. Life Star was initially called to the crash, but was cancelled.Trooper Lance Carlson, of Troop B, said Reed was driving a 1989 Volvo 240 on Route 112 (Lime Rock Road) around 7:15 p.m. near the intersection with Salmonkill Road when his car left the road for an unknown reason, traveling off the westbound shoulder and into the utility pole.Reed was wearing a shoulder and lap seat belt, according to Carlson’s report.The accident remains under investigation.State police are also investigating an earlier crash Sunday in Salisbury that occurred around 12 p.m. on Housatonic Road off Route 44. According to police radio transmissions, a car left the road and struck a utility pole in that incident also. A report on that crash with details was not immediately available Monday. Life Star was also requested to that scene.
