Bruceville, TX : Two people died in head-on collision Bruceville-Eddy on Friday October 21 2016
A Friday afternoon crash outside Bruceville-Eddy has led to a third death.
Two people died at the scene of the near head-on collision on Farm-to-Market Road 107 between Bruceville-Eddy and Moody. A third victim died Saturday afternoon at Baylor Scott & White Medical Center in Temple, Texas Department of Public Safety Sgt. D.L. Wilson said in a statement. No one else was involved in the crash, Wilson said.
Michael C. Brenegar, 41, of McGregor, died at 12:23 p.m. Saturday, he said.
James L. Corliss Jr., 30, and Samantha S. Hall, 29, both of Belton, died at the scene of the crash, Wilson said. Their names were withheld Friday pending notification of next of kin.
Corliss was driving a 2000 Chevy Tahoe east on the two-lane F.M. 107 between Bruceville-Eddy and Moody when the vehicle lost control and entered the westbound lane, colliding with a 2012 Chevrolet pickup driven by Brenegar, Wilson said. Hall was a passenger with Corliss in the Tahoe.
All three victims in the crash were wearing their seat belts, Wilson said.
The posted speed limit on the road is 75 mph. Skid marks show the Tahoe applied the brakes and locked up the wheels before the collision, but it was unclear what caused it to enter the westbound lane, Wilson said Friday.
