MIDDLEBORO, MA : Brockton woman, 57, killed in 4-car crash in Middleboro on Saturday, 22nd December 2018

A 57-year-old Brockton woman was killed and a 55-year-old Wareham woman seriously injured in a four-vehicle crash Friday afternoon on Route 495.
State Police said Anita Stevens, 57, was driving a 2002 GMC Envoy that spun out of control on the ramp from Route 44 to Route 495 north at about 4:15 p.m. The SUV came to a stop facing oncoming traffic and was hit head-on by the Wareham woman’s 2011 Cadillac CTS. The car spun into the left travel lane and struck a 2014 Kia Optima driven by a 55-year-old North Easton man. A 2008 Toyota Sienna driven by a 37-year-old Centerville man hit the Kia.
Stevens was taken to Morton Hospital in Taunton, where she was pronounced dead. The driver of the Cadillac is being treated at Good Samaritan Hospital in Brockton for serious injuries.
The names of the other drivers involved in the crash have not been released. The cause of the crash remains under investigation by State Police.
