Hoover, AL : No injuries in crash near Cahaba River on Friday afternoon, November 14, 2014
No one was injured in a two-vehicle crash Friday afternoon, which blocked lanes along Interstate 65 northbound near the Cahaba River, police said.
The crash involved two vehicles. One was pushed up against the concrete retaining wall in the collision and the second was spun around in the center lane, Hoover Police Capt. Gregg Rector said.
Fire units initially were called to the scene but were turned away.
The crash brought traffic to a standstill in both directions along I-65. Southbound delays are backing through the Interstate 459 interchange and along I-459 southbound toward U.S. 280.
As of 5:15 p.m., the scene had been cleared.
Also about that time, Alabama State Troopers also were working two crashes along I-459, one northbound and the other southbound, which were contributing to delays.
