Great Falls,MT : 25-year-old woman dies in crash on Gates of the Mountains Road on January, Saturday 20th 2018

A 25-year-old woman died in a one-vehicle crash Saturday on Gates of the Mountain Road north of Helena, according to the Montana Highway Patrol.

The vehicle was eastbound on Gates of the Mountain Road a mile east of Sperry Road, off of Interstate 15 between Helena and Wolf Creek.

The crash occurred at 11:57 a.m. when the driver, the sole occupant of the vehicle, failed to negotiate a right-hand curve, crossed the center line and went off the left side of the road, the Highway Patrol said.

The vehicle struck several trees and rolled at least three times.

The women was pronounced dead at the scene, the Highway Patrol said.

Speed is a suspected cause in the crash, the Highway Patrol said.

Roads were mostly dry at the time.
