Empire, LA : 39-year-old pedestrian was struck by a vehicle and dead on Friday early morning August 15th 2014

State police are investigating a fatal hit-and-run accident in Plaquemines Parish. Trooper Melissa Matey says the accident happened around 4 a.m. Friday on La. Highway 11 near Empire. Matey says 39-year-old Michael Czolowski, of Buras, walking south in the southbound lane when he was struck by a vehicle that fled the scene.
