WESTPORT, NY : A person injured in a crash on Wednesday, May 31, 2017

A person injured in a crash on Interstate 87 has been taken by helicopter to University of Vermont Medical Center in Burlington, State Police Troop B Public Information Officer Trooper Jennifer Fleishman said.

State Police reported the accident to the dispatch center in Lewis around 3:45 p.m., according to Lewis-based State Police.

The crash, involving one vehicle, occurred in the southbound lanes between exits 31 and 32 in the Town of Westport.

The sergeant-on-duty in Lewis responded after the call came in, police said. Additional details were not immediately available.
