Bibb County, GA : 71-year-old dies after motorcycle wreck in Macon on Tuesday afternoon, April 5, 2016

A motorcyclist wrecked his bike Tuesday afternoon in the 1500 block of Wesleyan Drive and died a little more than an hour later in a Macon hospital.

Arthur Thorsberg, 71, lost control of his 2004 Honda three-wheel motorcycle at 4:28 p.m., Coroner Leon Jones said. The Bibb County Sheriff's Office said the motorcycle left the right side of the road, went toward a ditch and struck a culvert.

Thorsberg, who lived in the River North subdivision in Jones County, died from his injuries at 5:44 p.m. at the Medical Center, Navicent Health, Jones said.

Jones said Thorsberg's death is Bibb County's eighth traffic fatality of 2016.

The sheriff's office is investigating. Anyone with information about the wreck is asked to call the sheriff's office at 751-7500 and leave a message for the on-call traffic accident investigator.
