El Paso, TX : I-10 reopens after wreck injures three on Saturday, December 3rd, 2016
Interstate 10 has re-opened in both directions after a collision near Trowbridge Drive hospitalized three people and temporarily shut the freeway.Traffic resumed as normal at around noon.
The wreck occurred at about 7:39 a.m. Saturday and involved a tractor-trailer, an SUV and a Camaro. The tractor-trailer was traveling west on I-10 and appeared to have crossed into the eastbound lanes, El Paso Police Department spokesman Darrel Petry said. The SUV and Camaro were traveling east, Petry said.
The female SUV driver and a passenger were transported to the hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries, he said. The male Camaro driver was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injures, he said.
The truck driver was not injured.
The investigation into the crash is ongoing, but Petry said the collision occurred when rain was falling, making the roads slick.
"We believe these were contributing factors," he said.
