Authorities say the truck was hauling non-potable water. The driver, identified as a 52-year-old man from Lebanon, was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
2 NEWS looked into the history of the company that owns the truck that crashed. The truck is registered to an individual and is based in Cincinnati.
Records show no violations and no penalties for the last three inspections.
In a 911 call provided by the Centerville Police Department, the driver of the truck says one of the front tires of his truck blew out, causing him to swerve off the road and into the trees. The driver told the 911 dispatcher that he was bleeding from his head after the crash.
After removing the truck from the treeline, authorities found a 300 gallon diesel tank was still in the woods, causing the EPA to be called to the scene. Authorities say they don’t believe any fuel spilled in the woods, but called the EPA as a precaution.
Crews worked for several hours to remove the truck from the woods.
