Sacramento, CA : Truck driver killed in a three-vehicle accident on Tuesday, October 3, 2017

The pickup truck driver killed in a three-vehicle accident Monday on northbound Highway 99 has been identified as Alma Bernice Gordillo Zuniga of Selma.

The accident happened at about 12:30 p.m. on Highway 99 just south of Mountain View Avenue, causing traffic to back up for several miles.

The California Highway Patrol said Zuniga, 35, was driving her Ford F-150 truck at a high rate of speed in the middle lane when she moved into the No. 3 lane, between two big rigs. The driver of the big rig behind Zuniga told the CHP he moved into the middle lane to try to avoid a collision, but as he did Zuniga moved into the same lane.

She collided with right front of the big rig, then into left rear of the second big rig, the CHP said.
