One person was killed and two people were injured in a Sunday crash near Milford Lake in Geary County, authorities said.
The crash was reported 6:15 a.m. Sunday at 7000 Laurel Canyon Road, about 5 miles north of K-244 highway.
According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, a 2015 Chevrolet Malibu was southbound on Laurel Canyon Road when it drove off the end of the roadway at a dead end.
The car then rolled down an embankment, coming to rest on its top.
The car’s driver, Ronald E. Stump Jr., 35, of Belleville, was pronounced dead at the scene. The patrol said he wasn’t wearing a seat belt.
A passenger in the Chevy, Wesley A. Peters, 33, of Belleville, was reported to have suffered disabling injuries and was taken to Geary Community Hospital in Junction City, as was another passenger in the car, Kayleen J. Notter, 26, of Belleville.
Neither Peters nor Notter was wearing a seat belt, the patrol said.
