Pittsburg, PA : One driver was killed after hit utility pole and building while fleeing from police on Wednesday , December 10th 2014
Pittsburgh police say a driver killed in a crash while fleeing officers was wanted on drug and weapons charges and had been wanted by police in a case that led to a another motorist being paralyzed by police gunfire two years ago.
Police say 22-year-old Lamont Ford Jr., of Wilkinsburg, hit a utility pole and a building after police say they chased his vehicle for nearly hitting a police car.
The case started about 2 a.m. Wednesday. Police lost sight of Ford's car shortly after the pursuit began, but found him dead at the scene about 90 seconds later.
Leon Ford, of Shaler Township, is suing the city over a November 2012 traffic stop. Ford was shot by police when he allegedly tried to drive away from a stop, in which officers initially thought he was Lamont Ford.
