Two people were hurt in a motorcycle crash Sunday afternoon on Interstate 84 west of Caldwell, according to a news release from Idaho State Police.
The wreck happened shortly before 2:55 p.m. when Carl Edmiston, 50, of Melba, was driving a 2007 Honda motorcycle west on I-84.
Then the back tire blew out. Edmiston lost control of the motorcycle and it came to rest in a ditch on the right shoulder of the interstate.
Edmiston and his passenger, Devin Edmiston, 19, of Melba, were taken by ground ambulance to St. Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise.
Devin Edmiston was wearing a helmet; Carl Edmiston was not wearing a helmet.
The right lane of westbound I-84 was blocked for about an hour while crews worked to clear the scene.
The crash is under investigation by the Idaho State Police.
