Phoenix, AZ : 6-year-old boy killed in Phoenix crash driver booked for manslaughter on Sunday October 2nd 2016.

Phoenix police say the 6-year-old victim in a crash near 40th Street and Broadway Sunday morning has died.

He has been identified as Tyrik Jenkins.

Police say that on Sunday at around 10:30 a.m., a blue Dodge pickup truck driven by 19-year-old German Valdemar Godinez-Godinez was traveling southbound.

Police say that truck collided with a Ford Ranger that was making a left turn onto northbound 40th Street.

Witnesses said Godinez failed to stop for the red light. He told police that he did not see the color of the traffic light because his visor was down, according to court documents.

Two adults were seated inside the Ford, with a child of about 2 on the lap of the front seat passenger.

Three other children were in the bed of the Ford and were thrown from the vehicle upon impact.

Jenkins, who was seated in the bed of the Ford, was transported to the hospital, where he later died.

Godinez told detectives that he drank a small bottle of whiskey, 12 beers and used cocaine three times between 4:30 p.m. Saturday and 10:30 a.m. Sunday, according to court documents.
