Tucson, AZ : Early morning driver crashes upside down in wash. on Friday, August 1, 2014

The driver of a pickup truck called 911 just after 5 a.m. Friday to report he was upside down in a wash.

The 42-year-old man lost control of his truck at a “T” intersection at West Sweetwater and North El Moraga drives on the Northwest side, west of North Silverbell Road, said Capt. Adam Goldberg, spokesman for the Northwest Fire District.

The truck hit the guardrail and launched 60 to 70 feet, landing upside down in the wash, Goldberg said.

The driver called 911 and said he could get out of the truck himself, but the dispatcher advised him to wait for firefighters to assist him, Goldberg said.

The man was wearing a seatbelt and sustained only minor injuries, Goldberg said. He was taken by ambulance to the University of Arizona Medical Center.
