Declo, ID : Two men injured in a crash on Interstate 84 Friday, February 17, 2017

Two men injured in a crash Friday caught rides to hospitals in personal vehicles.

Juan Palomo Jr., 30, of Evanston, Wyo., was eastbound on Interstate 84 Friday, when he took the off-ramp at Declo exit 216 in a 2006 Hyundai Azer. Meanwhile, Lloyd Thornton, 81, of Declo, was northbound on Idaho 77, south of the interstate, Idaho State Police said in a statement.

Paloma then crossed the state highway and pulled in front of Thornton’s vehicle, a 2008 Cadillac CTS. Thorton struck Palomo at the eastbound on-ramp to the interstate. The Cadillac came to rest in the northbound lane of Idaho 77.

Both men were injured and transported by personal vehicles. Pallomo went to Cassia Regional Medical Center and Thorton went to Minidoka Memorial Hospital. Both were wearing seat belts.
