Greenville, SC : Man killed, woman injured in Westside moped crash on Friday, July 29, 2016

A man was killed after his moped collided with a SUV off Pendleton Street in the city of Greenville, the Coroner's Office said.

Marvin Marshall Clark, also known as Claude Marvin Clark Jr., 55, was on a moped with a female passenger on Traction Street when the collision happened about 1:05 p.m. Friday, the Coroner's Office said.

According to a witness, the moped ran a stop sign at the intersection of Mason Street and struck the left rear door of a SUV, Coroner Parks Evans said.

Clark and the passenger were taken to Greenville Memorial Hospital, where Clark later died in surgery, Evans said. The passenger's injuries didn't appear to be life threatening, he said.

Clark's death has been ruled an accident.

The Coroner's Office and the Greenville Police Department were investigating this collision.
