Kenosha, WI : Motorist crashed into a hotel in Kenosha on Saturday morning October 18th 2014

A motorist crashed into a hotel in Kenosha Saturday morning. Authorities said the crash happened at the Country Inn and Suites near 122nd Avenue and 71st Street. Investigators said the driver of the car fell asleep at the wheel. They said they don't believe the driver was under the influence of drugs or alcohol. Dave Blum was at the hotel's pool. "Shortly after it happened, somebody came to that door and pounded from the outside. I opened it up and they said, 'Listen, there's been an accident, somebody's in trouble, we called 911, did anybody come running into the pool area from the room?'" he said. Blum and other guests said they waited in the lobby for about 45 minutes while emergency crews pulled the vehicle out of the room. Kenosha Fire Department Battalion Chief Wesley Bernhardt said two people were inside the hotel room that was struck by the car. "The car hit square into the wall," Bernhardt said. "You can imagine a hotel room and the width of a car. There wasn't a lot of room for that car to miss the people inside." "Coming back from a wedding and seeing all these lights, I mean, it was crazy," hotel guest Shelly Gorecki said. "We can't stay in our room because the car drove through it. We have to change rooms." Bernhardt said other hotel guests were evacuated and moved to other rooms. Source : Car crashes into Kenosha hotel
