Galveston, TX : Dickinson woman killed in League City crash on Sunday, November, 19th 2017
A Dickinson woman was killed Sunday morning after the car she was driving crashed into a ditch in League City.
The woman was found at about 7:50 a.m., after a passerby noticed an Infinity sedan in a ditch in the 6500 block of Calder Drive in League City, League City Police Department Sgt. Mickey Johnson said on Sunday evening.
The woman's name was not immediately released, though police said she was 38 years old.
It's not clear exactly when the car crashed, Johnson said. The ditch was deep enough that the car might not have be seen by most other vehicles driving by.
The death is being investigated as an accident, Johnson said. There was no one else in the car when it was found, and no indication that another vehicle was involved in the crash.
"It appears to be a one-car accident," he said.
The Galveston County Medical Examiner's Office will perform an autopsy to determine the woman's exact cause of death.
