Beckley, WV : A single vehicle accident near Alvon on Friday, July 7, 2017

A Greenbrier County man died Thursday in a single vehicle accident near Alvon Thursday evening, Greenbrier County Sheriff's Office reported.

Deputies said Fred Ramsey, 66, of White Sulphur Springs, was driving on Anthony Road around 9:30 p.m. and ran off the roadway, impacting a tree.

Ramsey was transported to Greenbrier Valley Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.

Cpl. R.P. Honaker of GCSO is the investigating officer, and said the investigation is still ongoing.
