Murfreesboro, TN : Driver arrested in fatal hit-and-run crash near the intersection of E. Clark Boulevard and Dow Street on Friday night, Oct 23, 2015

The driver accused in a hit-and-run that killed a bicyclist in Murfreesboro has been arrested.

The crash happened Friday night at 11:19 p.m. near the intersection of E. Clark Boulevard and Dow Street.

Police say the vehicle fled the scene before officers arrived, but they were later able to track down the vehicle.

The bicyclist, identified as 37-year-old Chad R. Simmons, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Kevin Griffin, 54, was arrested in Smyrna on Sunday. He's charged with leaving the scene, evading arrest, failure to render aid and reckless driving.

Griffin was booked into the Rutherford County jail and is being held on a $500,000 bond.
