Jefferson City, MO : One person was injured in a crash on Friday, May 26, 2017
One person was injured in a crash involving a vehicle and a motor scooter Friday morning in Jefferson City.
Tom Roling, 58, of Jefferson City, was driving southbound on Eastland Drive, preparing to turn left into the McDonald's parking lot, around 5 a.m., when his vehicle collided with the motor scooter of Elmer Redcay, 62, of Jefferson City, who was traveling northbound on Eastland, according to a Jefferson City Police Department news release.
Redcay was ejected from the scooter. Officers and emergency personnel arrived to find Redcay on the ground with serious injuries; he was transported by ambulance to University Hospital in Columbia.
Redcay was wearing a Transportation department-approved helmet.
Roling was not injured.
The crash is under investigation by the Jefferson City Police Department Traffic Unit.
