CARP LAKE, MI : Four people injured in 3-vehicle crash on U.S. 31 near Gill Road in Emmet County’s Carp Lake Township on Saturday, 1st February, 2020

Four people were injured in a three-vehicle traffic crash Saturday in northern Emmet County.

Emmet County Sheriff Pete Wallin said the crash happened at about 11:45 a.m. on U.S. 31 near Gill Road in Emmet County’s Carp Lake Township.

Speaking to the News-Review Monday, Wallin said the preliminary crash report was not yet complete and he did not have access to all of the crash information yet.

He said preliminary information shows that the crash happened when David Davis, 52, of St. Ignace was driving a 2005 Chevrolet Equinox north on U.S. 31, when he lost control and his vehicle struck a southbound 2014 Toyota Corolla, driven by 42-year-old Pellston resident Jessica Good, head-on. A second southbound vehicle, a 2006 pickup truck driven by Parker Spears, 20, of Pellston also made contact with the Davis vehicle, Wallin said.

He said Good, an 11-year-old girl who was her passenger and Davis were all transported to McLaren Northern Michigan hospital by Emmet County EMS to be treated for injuries he described as serious. He said Spears was treated for minor injuries by ambulance crews at the scene and released.
