Augusta,GA : Trudeaus involved in three-car accident in Columbia County on September, Wednesday 6th 2017

Dennis and Mary Ann Trudeau, both former mayors of Grovetown, were involved in a three-car wreck Wednesday afternoon.

According to the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office, the accident occurred on Georgia Highway 388. One vehicle rolled over, and occupants from two of the vehicles had to be extricated and taken to AU Medical Center with minor injuries.

Dennis Trudeau, 92, was transferred to the intensive care unit because of his age and an orbital injury. Mary Ann Trudeau underwent surgery for internal bleeding, according to the sheriff’s office.

Michelle Austin, 55, was also taken to the hospital but did not suffer any broken bones or internal bleeding, the report said.

Mary Ann Trudeau spent 18 years as a Grovetown mayor and city councilwoman. Dennis Trudeau served several terms as mayor of Grovetown before stepping down in 2007. He was elected to city council in 2015.
