Racine County, WI : Two people injured in single-car crash in Racine County Highway 11 on Wednesday night September 23 2015
Two people were taken to the hospital after a single-car crash Wednesday night in Racine County.
Officials responded to the crash site, at the intersection of State Highway 11 and 67th Drive in the Town of Yorkville, around 8:30 p.m. According to a news release from the Racine County Sheriff's Office, the car had been traveling south on 67th, and failed to stop for a stop sign at the intersection with Highway 11. The vehicle crashed into the ditch, which caused severe front end damage.
The driver, a 41-year-old woman from Antioch, Ill., was found lying across the front seat. She was not wearing a seatbelt and had facial injuries. The windshield was smashed on the driver's side. There was also a 9-year-old boy in the rear passenger seat in a car seat, wearing his seatbelt. The boy was conscious, and his injuries are believed to be bruising from the seat belt.
