DORCHESTER COUNTY, SC : 1 killed in 4-vehicle crash in Dorchester County on Friday, 4th September, 2020

The Dorchester County Coroner’s Office says a Ridgeville woman died when her vehicle struck three others Friday afternoon on U.S. Highway 17-Alt in Dorchester County.
Kristine Ann Sheldon-Roman, 33, was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash, Coroner Paul Brouthers said.
South Carolina Highway Patrol Lance Cpl. Tyler Tidwell said the crash happened at approximately 2:55 p.m. near Swan Drive.
Troopers say a 2004 Nissan Xterra struck the left rear bumper of a 2015 GMC pickup, both of which were traveling south on Highway 17A. The Xterra then went airborne and crashed into a trailer being hauled by a 2011 Chevrolet pickup, spun around and struck a 2004 Chevrolet Tahoe. Both the Chevrolet pickup and Tahoe were traveling in the opposite direction, Tidwell said.
The driver of the Xterra, who was the only occupant of that vehicle, died from injuries suffered in the crash.
Two people in the 2011 Chevrolet pickup were taken to the hospital. The remaining five people in the other two vehicles were not injured, Tidwell said.
The crash blocked all lanes of the highway for a time.
