CAMPBELL COUNTY : Campbell County crash leaves three dead on Monday, 10th July 2023

Virginia State Police have identified two of the three victims of a crash in Campbell County on Monday.
The crash happened at 4 p.m. on Route 682, less than a mile west of Route 711, police say.

A 2018 Nissan Murano was traveling east on Route 682 at a high rate of speed when it crossed the center line and crashed into a 2019 Chevrolet Trax head-on, according to police.

We’re told the impact of the crash caused the Nissan to run off the road, strike the guardrail, and flip down an embankment.

State police say the driver of the Nissan, 66-year-old Patsy Jasiewicz of Gretna died at the scene. She was wearing a seat belt.

The driver of the Chevrolet, 74-year-old Linda Keesee of Altavista died at the scene, authorities said. A 12-year-old girl, who was a passenger in the vehicle, also died at the scene. Both Keesee and the girl were wearing seatbelts, according to police.

Virginia State Police say the investigation is ongoing.
