WESTON, WV : One hurt in wreck near South Weston exit of I-79 on Saturday, 20th August, 2016
One man was hospitalized Saturday morning after a wreck on Interstate 79, according to Lewis County Sheriff’s Deputy J.S. Carey.
The wreck occurred at about 6:45 a.m. when a car traveling south ran off the right side of the highway and flipped multiple times at mile marker 96 near the South Weston exit, Carey said.
The car ran into the exit sign, the deputy said.
“He hit that, and it landed on top of the car,” Carey said. “The car was so mangled, you couldn’t even see the emblem to tell what kind of car it was.”
The driver was the only occupant of the vehicle. He was taken to the hospital by Lewis County EMS.
The wreck is under investigation by Lewis Sheriff’s Deputy D. Hendershot.
