New Virginia man dies after being ejected from his vehicle near Osceola

A 22-year old man died after he was ejected from his vehicle in a rollover car crash in Clarke County on Friday morning, according to an Iowa State Patrol crash report.James Eugene Shadden Jr. of New Virginia died in a car accident south of US Highway 69 near Osceola around 10:14 a.m. Friday, the report stated.Shadden was driving his Jeep Grand Cherokee northbound on 240th Avenue when he lost control of the vehicle, according to the report. The vehicle then entered the east ditch, came back onto the road and rolled once.In the accident, Shadden was ejected from the car. He was not wearing a seatbelt, according to the report.Shadden was taken by a helicopter to the Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines. He did not survive the incident. No other injured persons are listed on the crash report.
