GHENT, WV : One person is dead after a single-vehicle accident on Interstate 77 on Tuesday, 24th April 2018

One person is dead after a single-vehicle accident on Interstate 77 early Tuesday evening.

The accident occurred around 5 p.m. at mile marker 26, officials said.

As of 10:36 p.m. Tuesday night, two northbound lanes remained closed to traffic, Cpl. J.A. Jackson, with the West Virginia State Police Turnpike detachment, said.

“There is one fatality, (an individual) not from our local area,” Jackson said. “It happened at mile marker 26, just over the crest at Flat Top.”
