Lake Stevens,WA : Meth and heroin found on driver in Lake Stevens fatal crash on October, Thursday 26th 2017
A three-car crash in Lake Stevens left one person dead and another under arrest Thursday morning.
Police arrested a 50-year-old Everett man for investigation of vehicular homicide. He’s suspected of drugged driving.
The person who died was a passenger in his car. No information about age or gender was supplied.
A Ford Mustang was headed east on 20th Street SE at 6:57 a.m. when the driver turned left at the intersection with 91st Avenue SE, police said. The car collided with a westbound Chevy pickup. Both vehicles crashed into a Ford Fusion that was stopped on 91st.
The passenger died on impact, according to police. The driver and a second passenger in the Mustang suffered minor injuries.
No one else was seriously hurt.
Officers closed the road for hours as they investigated.
At the hospital, a drug recognition expert from the Washington State Patrol carried out sobriety tests on the driver. The trooper suspected the man was impaired. As he was being booked into jail, guards found the man was hiding heroin and meth on his body, police said. He faces additional potential charges of possessing drugs.
