BERLIN, MA : An elderly driver was taken to the hospital in a three-car crash on Sunday, June 4, 2017

An elderly driver was taken to the hospital Sunday afternoon after a three-car crash on Interstate 495.

According to the state police, the victim, a 74-year-old man from Worcester who was driving a 2007 Honda Pilot, was taken to Marlborough Hospital with “non-incapacitating” injuries.

The two other drivers involved in the crash, a 34-year-old man from Lynn driving a 2003 Chevrolet SUV and a 25-year-old man from Winslow, Maine, driving a 1999 Chevy Suburban, were not injured, and were issued citations. There was no information available from state police Sunday night about what the citations were for.

The crash occurred in the southbound lanes just north of the Route 62 exit around 3:30 p.m., causing a traffic backup on the highway for about 20 minutes.

State police did not provide information Sunday night about how the crash occurred.
