Waialua, HI : One person dead, one arrested after crash on Farrington Highway on Saturday morning, September 10, 2016

A man is dead after a two car crash Saturday morning in Nanakuli.

Police say shortly after 5 AM, a 23-year-old man and his passenger were traveling westbound on Farrington Highway, when they struck a vehicle making a left turn onto the highway from Nanakuli Avenue.

The 49-year-old driver of that vehicle was taken to the hospital in critical condition, where he later died.

The other driver was not injured. His passenger was taken to the hospital in good condition.

Officers on the scene saw alcoholic beverages in the younger driver's vehicle, and he was arrested for negligent homicide as well as driving under the influence.
